We are delighted to have completed our latest Road to Talk III programme at Sunnyhill Children’s Centre – Streatham Better Start Area, working alongside local families to support children’s communication and give parents practical strategies they can continue using at home.
This programme also marks a very special milestone for Clapping Hands CIC, as it brings our National Lottery-funded Road to Talk project to an end.
Thanks to funding from The National Lottery, we have been able to bring Road to Talk into community settings, reach families who may otherwise experience barriers to accessing support, and provide parents with practical tools to better understand and support their children’s communication and development.
Our final programme at Sunnyhill was a lovely way to finish this journey. Families engaged positively with the sessions, enjoyed the activities and accessed practical support tailored to their children.
We would like to say a very special thank you to the Sunnyhill Children’s Centre and Streatham Better Start Area team for welcoming us and for their support and trust in Clapping Hands CIC.
We were also delighted to receive such positive feedback:
“The positive feedback from practitioners and the excellent uptake by families demonstrate the value of the programme.”
— Phyllis Hayden, Better Start Area Manager
As we close this chapter, we want to say a huge thank you to The National Lottery for making this work possible, to all of the community partners who have welcomed and supported us throughout the project, and, most importantly, to every family who has taken part.
Although this funded programme has come to an end, the learning, relationships and impact created through Road to Talk will continue to shape our work at Clapping Hands CIC.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Road to Talk journey.
With love and energy,
The Clapping Hands CIC Team
